Rom Mizrahi Eiss: October 2021 Instructor of the Month

Have you met Rom?

Like a lot of our instructors, Rom started as a client whose passion for a class grew into a need to share it with others. Rom attended our Hot Pilates Teacher Training with April Clendenin and Kelsey Coggins and now teaches Pilates at the House of Love.

She doesn't just teach Pilates, though. This powerhouse is also a lawyer and a business owner! Resilient and caring, her classes will challenge you physically while filling your cup with goodness.

Get to know her by reading her written interview below.

Q: How did you get into the fitness world and when did you know you wanted to become an instructor?

A: Back in 2016 after I graduated from law school my health was in bad shape on every level and I knew I had to take matters into my own hands to start healing myself. Fitness in many ways brought me back to life and I was so blessed to experience such a positive shift. Once I saw how much it helped me, I knew I wanted to dedicate my time helping others find peace through fitness.

Q: What do you feel is your purpose as an instructor?

A: To empower others to push themselves while simultaneously honoring their bodies. My purpose is to ensure that those I teach understand that they are already whole, perfect, and complete exactly as they are.

Q: Why is movement an important part of your life?

A: Movement impacts everything in my day. It brings me balance, it brings me peace, and often gives me perspective. I am the best version of myself on the days I incorporate some movement.,

Q: What quotes or mantras currently resonate with you?

A: “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, she became a butterfly”

Q: What are some of your daily rituals?

A: Going outside with my dog every morning with my hot water with lemon and just giving myself 5 minutes of reflection before starting the day.

Q: Who inspires you?

A: My sisters inspire me to recognize when the little things are actually the big things and to be present moment by moment.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at Evolution Yoga?

A: The community! It has truly become my second home. I walk in and feel that I can be my true authentic self.

Q: When you’re not teaching classes at Evolution Yoga, what are you doing?

A: I am the Managing Partner of Bach Queen, a luxury concierge service offering custom travel and planning for bachelorette parties in Miami.

Q: Finish these sentences:

I'm most at peace when... I am in the sun with my dog and family.

My friends would describe me as... witty, inclusive, passionate, dependable, funny.

I'm currently listening to... The moth podcast.

My biggest pet peeve is... when people don’t mean what they say and don’t say what they mean.
